Summer has it's own rhythm. Vacations, summer camps, out of town visitors...it stays light later, evenings at the beach, bonfires with the sounds of a guitar or ukulele playing in the background. Summer is also a very exciting season at Giacoletti Music with three special events!
First, this year we will have our Summer Awards Recital on Saturday, July 20th, 10am. This is an opportunity for us to recognize students for the outstanding work that they put in all year. Please extend an invitation to friends and family early so they can save the date. We love to celebrate our student's accomplishments--the more the merrier!
Students will also have the opportunity to be paired up with another student or two and begin to collaborate on a song together. A great joy in music is playing together. We will have a student showcase early in the fall where the students can show off what they learned over the summer. We can't wait! What better use of the extra time that isn't spent with school/homework/usual responsibilities. Music is also a great activity instead of video games and computer play.

Finally, we will have a special week in August called Disney Days! All staff and students have the opportunity to dress in Disney costumes or other Disney attire during the weekly lessons. On Saturday, August 24th, we will visit Las Villas de Carlsbad for a special Disney themed recital, complete with costumes/Disney attire. Please talk to your child's teacher about song choices.
So, while lots of things vie for our attention over summer, let us encourage you to prioritize your music lesson time so you and your child can take advantage of the boost in music advancement and progress that students can make over the summer when they are afforded an engaging environment and teachers who are excited to help them reach their goals!
Of course, we know there is a need to take a break here and there to get refreshed and inspired, so the studio will be closed for a scheduled break July 29th-Aug.3rd, classes resuming August 5th. As with all our scheduled breaks no makeups will be scheduled and billing will not be affected. The store will remain open to serve you. Here's to a great summer full of trips to the beach, camping, catching up with friends, and of course a few bonfires accompanied by an instrument or two!
